Now I may have been living under a rock or something, I certainly don't read Edge as much as I used to, but I hadn't heard anything about this console until 5 minutes ago when I looked at 2Advanced to see if there had been any updates. So I watched the promo vid 2Advanced have created and very flashy it is too, then I had a look at the site for Infinium Labs and it turns out that it ships with the Flash 6 player, Netscape 6 and IE 5. Sounds interesting, I'm off to read some more!

OK, now I'm excited. This beast is a broadband device so you can not only enjoy online gaming but also have the freedom of online rental and games on demand via a secure network. It also boasts over 100Gb of storage, a 3Ghz processor and 256Mb DDR RAM. It also has Dolby Digital 7.1 surround, wireless keyboard and mouse well the list just goes on and on.

I have just been looking through the work of Jonathan Clark, to be more precise his Photographic project called After life which is based on four seasons at Streatham Cemetery. He has used simple animation techniques to make his photographs come to life, check out summer for the most realistic and interesting work.

Thanks Colin for responding so quickly to a topic which I'm sure was on the tip of everyone's fingers! Mr. Moock has put some examples here of how Actionscript 2.0 differs from our old friend v1.

There seems to be a big buzz over the next generation of actionscript but I can't see much information about the new specification on macromedia.com? Do I have to wait until monsieur moock pens yet another definitive guide to see what is hidden under MX 2004's bonnet?

They're finally here, Dreamweaver, Flash & Fireworks MX 2004! I wasn't even aware the release was so close to be honest I've been so busy lately. Macromedia have also taken the opportunity to give the site a new lick of paint which I have to say is a vast improvement in my opinion over the beige predecessor. Can't wait to get my hands on these little beauties!

Sounds too good to be true right? Here is the site explanation:

"All online computer books listed in this site are available for free, as they are hosted on websites that belong to the authors or the publishers. You are most welcomed to view, download and print the books for your own private use at no charge."

No Flash books but loads of OOP, data structuring and general programming resources as well as books on UNIX and Linux.

One for Mike Johnson maybe?

"Zombies are grey, move very slowly and change direction randomly and frequently unless they can see something moving in front of them, in which case they start walking towards it. After a while they get bored and wander randomly again.

If a zombie finds a human directly in front of it, it infects them; the human immediately becomes a zombie.

Humans are pink and run five times as fast as zombies, occasionally changing direction at random. If they see a zombie directly in front of them, they turn around and panic.

Panicked humans are bright pink and run twice as fast as other humans. If a human sees another panicked human, it starts panicking as well."

This is an interesting service offered for the Edinburgh Festival by Pocket Video where video highlights and reviews of the festival can be viewed on your mobile phone. Apparently you do not need a 3rd generation phone to view the content either. [via BBC ]

Having previously blogged about this watch, I've unearthed a photo of the beast it's insanely big. I presume it would feel like you had substituted your real arm for a robotic one! Check the pics at Gizmodo

It seems everytime I look into getting a new phone there is something exciting just around the corner, well I didn't realise things were moving quite as fast as they actually are. Here are a few of the latest posts I saw on Gizmodo.

"Sanyo's TV cellphone. First Samsung, then NEC, now Sanyo has a prototype of a cellphone with an integrated digital television tuner. The new phone has a 2.2-inch organic electroluminescent display, two built-in digital cameras, 128MB of internal memory, and we think (it's hard to tell from the translation) that it can function sort of like a TiVo and save up to 30 minutes of television programming."

"Cellphone running Windows CE.net The STAMP PC phone, which looks remarkably like one of Motorola's Accompli handsets, runs on either GSM/GPRS or CDMA, and has a 2.4-inch, 65,000 color touchscreen, 32MB of RAM, 32MB of Flash ROM, a 200GHz processor, and a built-in digital camera."

CEC's wristphone The F88, which is made by CEC, runs on China's CDMA 1x network, and has a wired earpiece that is worn like a ring (an infrared earpiece is available, though a Bluetooth onewould be even better), a small keypad on the wristband, a 256-color LCD screen, and a digital camera attachment.

No it's not a group of angry actionscripters running riot, it's a python-esque prank set to hit cities in the UK and Europe, maybe I'll start organising one in Sydney?! Click here for the Guardian's coverage of the story. [ via James

Yesterday I was banging my head against the screen for about an hour as I couldn't seem to get CFMAIL to work in Coldfusion MX on OS X. Well I realised after about 20 minutes that my mail settings weren't saving in the Coldfusion Administrator and after another 20 minutes realised that if I used Safari instead of Mozilla (1.4) the settings saved no problem! I don't know if this is a bug in Mozilla or maybe a restart would have fixed it, but I refuse to restart OS X just to show OS 9 how a real OS should work!

Oh and I just built a Log In page for my product administrator which checks the user and access privilages against a table in my SQL database and then sets a session variable for 15 minutes, exciting stuff!!
