As I fixed my archives I realised I was doing something very silly with my css and xhtml so I decided to make yet another change, it was very minor - switching the position of the header div to outside the container div which means I can float the nav bar left in the container div and have two seperate background tiling images one for the top and one for the main area. Simple, but bandwidth saving compared to what I was doing before.
