I had my first internet bill yesterday for my Dodo fixed rate account, I thought it was pretty cheap at $9.90/month and didn't really read the small print, I saw something about excess download limit capped at $14 but thought there was no way I would exceed the limit as I am not downloading MP3's or Vids. I am however working on some stuff for a friend which involves uploading and downloading images via ftp but even so... Anyway it seems I quite easily exceeded the 70Mb limit in a month and I am actually quite glad the cost is capped at $14 because they reckon I was 180Mb over!!?? Can't see that being true myself but hey you live and learn and I have learned that for an extra $5/month (presuming I keep exceeding my bandwidth limit) I can have broadband...but there is a limit on that too...and what if I want to buy a load of mp3's? decisions, decisions...

What is the broadband capped to? That's a bit rubbish.

all these 19.99 and 29.99 broadband a/cs are a rip off. They all cap at 200mb and have 14c per mb download after that. Telstra, Optus, all the same. You could do 200 meg in an hour not a month. Take my advice, go with Internode. 60 bucks a month, 12 gig download, free upload, no excess (speed limited after 12 gig) or 80 bucks for 24 gig. You might save $20 on phone calls using adsl not dial up. Remember - its a tax deduction.

Har!

Lucky you are not with Tel$tra!

I somehow happened to knock up nearly 500Mb in a single day.

Thanks for that Nick I'm definitely going to look into internode, I forgot that it would count as a tax deduction, excellent advice cheers!
