Well it has finally launched, homehound, I completely re-coded the front end to try and make it valid xhtml 1.0 transitional and css layout. There are a few issues as some data is pulled from 3rd party sites and therefore I have no control over things like invalid break tags.Jon 11:53 AM Permalink

I like it, but the "Search" button just doesn't seem to have enough constrast -- I thought it was greyed out (disabled).
On second inspection I'm betting that search button was designed to be placed on a white background...
My suggestion would be to increase the constrast for the text on all the grey buttons... you have the coloured icon to communicate active/unactive
Nice work.

I was not responsible for the overall design as this was an acquired site and therefore most of the site remains the same, my main aim was to rebrand and re-code to be mostly compliant minus a few ampersands etc. and to reduce the bandwidth in the process which with the html on the homepage reduced from 35kb to 13kb should make a difference although there are couple more images than the previous version of the site websiteoptimization.com seems to make it a 7kb reduction overall whereas searchengineworld.com is closer to 40kb... I think I believe the first one!
Homehound? it should be put down out of all the real estate websites it is the most poorly received dont even start on the print publication it is pathetically formatted indeed it has gone to the dogs and what about it's position near the adult services perhaps fpc's catch cry should be advertise your property doggy style!
