So I bought the Agile Development with Ruby on Rails book and have been ploughing through that with difficulty so I figured I should probably try and get my head around MVC frameworks with PHP first so at least I understand the syntax. I've looked at a few, most of which work in much the same way as RoR, and one really caught my eye, CakePHP. Today I was browsing around and found that Jonathan Snook has written a couple of articles on getting started with CakePHP, and whilst looking through the comments I came across another suggested framework, Code Igniter and having just watched the 2 video tutorials I think this simplified framework is just what I need to dive in and get up to speed. I have a project on the cards which I really want to use a PHP framework for as it needs to be scalable and very easy to edit and debug, this could be just the thing!
