Well it's 3 points in the bag but not the most convincing performance of all time by England, but the 1-0 victory over Paraguay has put us in a great position for the next 2 games against Trinidad & Tobago and Sweden and with the hopeful inclusion of Wayne Rooney we should definitely progress to the next round.

How about Australia last night? I couldn't believe it, what a comeback! 1-0 down to a 3-1 win is no mean feat especially as Australia have never scored in a World Cup before. Fantastic result.

Nice one socceroos, plenty of celebrations overnight here in australia. Pity the games are so late with the time difference, kick off at just before midnight.

Apparently it was the heat (so says Becks). The media in the UK have switched from fanatical optimism to slagging of Erikson and the team in a blink of an eye.
